I hadn’t been home in seven months—the longest stretch in a while.
(There were readings in Edmonton and Calgary—click the links for photos. There was also a family wedding.)
And I was thirsty the whole time for the things of my home. There’s a huge amount of large-scale construction—earth-moving, road-building—in and around the place I grew up that it took a bit of concerted effort to get to the things of home.

HI Laurie, sounds like you had a nice nostalgic visit home as in home with family, home in Sherwood Park and in Edmonton.
Sometimes we just need that “hit” of the familiar and to wonder around the old neighbourhood. It is cathartic.
On another topic – where can I buy you book?
Looking forward to catching sometime later in the fall.
I will be flying out to Saskatchewan on August 16 and returning on the 24th. It will be short but good to catch up with friends and family like Aunt Maxine in Saskatoon and Aunt Alma in Regina. They are both getting older like in the 90’s. So it might be the last time I have have to see them.
love you we will connect soon!
